Bivouac Apps LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Alfred Family Meal Planner app. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

We collect information you provide directly:
- Account information: email address and password
- Family member profiles: names, dietary restrictions, and meal preferences you enter
- Meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists you create
- App usage data to improve the service
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the Alfred meal planning service
- To generate AI-powered meal plans based on your family's needs
- To sync your data across devices in your household
- To send account-related emails (confirmation, password reset)
- To send push notifications about your meal plans (you can disable these in Settings)
- To improve Alfred's features and fix issues
Third-Party Services
Alfred uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication (data stored in the United States)
- OpenAI — powers AI meal plan generation (prompts include your dietary preferences, not personal identifiers)
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and in-app purchases
- Sentry — error reporting to help us fix bugs (no personal data included)
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics
- Resend — transactional email delivery
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Each household's data is isolated — other users cannot access your family's information.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all your data, including family profiles, meal plans, and recipes.
Children's Privacy
Alfred is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Family member profiles (including children's dietary preferences) are created and controlled by adult account holders.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Contact us at support@bivouacapps.com with any requests.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
